My QR code doesn't scan
A checklist for codes that phones won't read.
Go through these in order. Most codes that won't scan fail on one of the first three.
- Contrast. The pattern must be clearly darker than the background. Light-on-dark or low-contrast colors fail on many phones.
- Size and distance. The code may be too small for the distance. See what size to print.
- Quiet zone. Leave a blank margin around the code. Text or graphics touching the edge confuse scanners.
- Logo. Make it smaller, or remove it to test.
- Print quality. Blurry or smudged prints, and shiny lamination, make modules hard to see.
- Content. For a link, check the address opens in a browser and starts with https://.
- Dynamic code paused or over the limit. If the scan opens a 'paused' page, the code was paused or its plan ended. Open it in the dashboard.
