Acceptable use policy
Why we have this policy
A QR code or short link hides where it goes until someone opens it. That makes them useful for scams, so we hold every code and link on ScanMosaic to the rules below. They apply to everything you create: codes, links, hosted pages, files, forms, AI images and the API. They add to our terms of service.
Content that isn't allowed
- Phishing, or pages that ask for passwords, card numbers or one-time codes while pretending to be someone else.
- Malware, unwanted software, or links that start downloads people didn't ask for.
- Scams and fraud: fake shops, fake invoices or parking fines, investment or crypto schemes, fake prizes.
- Child sexual abuse material, or anything that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities.
- Content that threatens, harasses or incites violence or hatred against people or groups.
- Sexually explicit content.
- Sales of illegal goods or services, including drugs, weapons and counterfeit products.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, or that impersonates a person, brand or public body.
- Private information about other people shared without their consent.
Use that isn't allowed
- Spam: sending links or codes in bulk to people who didn't ask for them.
- Hiding where a link really goes to get past security filters, or chaining redirects to avoid review.
- Creating accounts to get round plan limits, or to come back after we suspended you.
- Inflating scan or click counts, or interfering with other customers' statistics.
- Probing, scanning or load-testing the service, or using the API beyond its rate limits.
- Reselling or sharing accounts outside your team.
What we do
We check destinations against lists of unsafe sites, and review reports. When something breaks this policy we may disable the code or link (people who scan it see a notice instead), remove hosted content, suspend the workspace or close the account, depending on how serious it is. Where it's safe and lawful, we tell the owner why. Paid plans aren't refunded when an account is closed for serious abuse.
Report a problem
Seen a code or link on ScanMosaic that breaks these rules? Report it. We review every report.
