QR codes for events and conferences
Events are full of moments where typing is a pain: joining the WiFi, finding the agenda, swapping contacts. QR codes make each one a single scan.
Where QR codes help
Save the date
An event code adds the date, time and place to guests' calendars.
Make a Event QR code →Agenda and speaker info
Link to the live agenda so changes reach everyone instantly.
Make a Link QR code →Slides for the audience
Show a Google Slides code on the first and last slide.
Make a Google Slides QR code →Session feedback
Collect ratings with a Google Form at the end of each session.
Make a Google Forms QR code →Example: a one-day conference
Badges carry each attendee's LinkedIn code on the back. Room signs have a dynamic code to that room's agenda, so a late speaker change is one edit, not a reprint.
The closing slide shows a feedback form code at 25% of the screen height. Most answers arrive before people leave the room.
Get it right first time
- On screens, make codes at least 15% of the screen height.
- Use dynamic codes on signage so last-minute changes are easy.
- Test codes on the venue's WiFi and on mobile data.
- Keep codes on badges small but at least 2 cm.
